OCHA: 21 palestinier skadades, 12 hus raserades förra veckan

Västbanken: 21 palestinier skadades och 12 byggnader revs på den ockuperade Västbanken förra veckan, enligt en rapport om israeliska brott mot civil befolkningen i Palestina. I rapporten konstaterades att inkomstkällorna för 36 palestinier har påverkades av Israels rivning av nio byggnader förra veckan. Den israeliska ockupationen myndighet (IOA) utfärdat rivningsorder mot flera bostäder i det ockuperade Jerusalem, Jeriko och Nablus enligt rapporten. OCHA förklarade också i sin rapport att 18 palestinier sköts av israeliska soldater under veckan och tre andra skadades av judiska bosättare. Som en del av attackerna, saboterade de judiska bosättarna 40 olivträd nära Kfar Tapuah. De brände åtta palestinska fordon i Salfit, Nablusoch Ramallah.

 The UN considers the Gaza Strip as an Israeli occupied territory and will continue to do so until the General Assembly or the Security Council decides otherwise in future resolutions, UN spokesman Martin Nesirky told the daily press briefing in answer to a pressing question these days on the status of the Strip.
"Under resolutions adopted by both the Security Council and the General Assembly on the Middle East process, the Gaza Strip continues to be regarded as part of the occupied Palestinian territory. The UN will accordingly continue to refer to the Gaza Strip as part of the occupied Palestinian territory until such time as either the General Assembly or the Security Council take a different view," he said.
He gave two examples: the first is Security Council resolution 1860 of 2009 which stressed that the Strip constitutes an "integral part" of the territory occupied in 1967, stressing that Council resolutions "do have force in international law." The second is a 2010 General Assembly resolution which, while it noted the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and part of the northern part of the West Bank, it also stressed the "need for respect and preservation of the territorial unity, contiguity and integrity of all of the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem." Following her briefing to the Security Council yesterday on the impact of the Israeli settlements activity on the humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territory, the UN Head of humanitarian affairs Valerie Amos insinuated, in answer to a question, that Gaza is not an occupied territory.
Palestinian Ambassador Riyad Mansour also told reporters yesterday in answer to the same question that under international law, Gaza is occupied because it does not control its sky, sea or crossings

The PLO and its daughter, the Palestinian Authority (PA), had been saying rather ad nauseam that they wouldn't resume moribund "peace talks" with Israel until the Zionist regime froze settlement expansion in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem.

However, it seems PLO/PA officials have utterly failed to keep their vows in this regard as evident from the two recent Israeli-Palestinian meetings in Amman. Halima has returned to her old habit, as the Arab adage goes.

Needless to say, the failure of the PA to keep up its promises creates a real problem of trust and credibility for the Palestinian leadership. It shows the PA cannot be really trusted to stand up to Israeli ambitions to arrogate more and more lebensraum for the criminal entity. It also shows that the PA cannot be entrusted to safeguard Palestinian rights from the rapacity and covetousness of Zionism, a movement that has all the hallmarks of German Nazism.

In addition to sending a negative message to the Palestinian people, namely that the PA gives up so easily on its declared constants by giving in to Zionist insolence and arrogance of power, the PA consent to resume peace talks with Israel, even under a third-party umbrella, vindicates, in a certain sense, the Israeli stance.


Israel, especially, the extreme right-wing circles which rule the Zionist state, argued on many occasions that the Palestinian leadership, no matter what it says publicly, would eventually submit to Israeli conditions and dictates.

Indeed, Netanyahu, Lieberman and the rest of the terrorist-thugs who make up the bulk of the Israeli political establishment can now look their critics in the eyes and tell them "Didn't we tell you they would return"?.
 

Den 4 januari 2009, omkring kl. 6 på morgonen, omringade israeliska styrkor familjen al-Samounis hus i Gaza. Fadern i familjen, Attia al-Samouni (37), beordrades ut och blev, när han lämnade huset med uppsträckta händer, omedelbart nedskjuten och dödad. Soldaterna fortsatte sedan att skjuta mot huset, dödade fyraårige Ahmad al-Samouni och skadade ytterligare fyra personer, varav två barn. Nästa dag anföll israelerna åter huset, och flera andra hus i omgivningen. Totalt dödades 21 personer i aktionen, och många fler skadades. Amal al-Samouni (11) skadades i huvudet av en granatskärva och begravdes i bråten tillsammans med dödade och döende anhöriga. Till sist kunde hon den 7 januari grävas fram av räddningspersonal, som dittills förvägrats tillträde av israelerna, och föras till sjukhus.
